Infants are provided with plenty of individual attention... talking, singing, cuddling, and rocking. Separate from the other classrooms, the infant areas is sunny, colorful and stimulating. Every effort will be made to follow the routines and schedules that your baby follows at home. Daily communication between parents and staff even further promotes the best opportunity for each infants growth and development.
Our toddler program is designed to motivate each to explore their curiosities while giving them the necessary structure, support, and caring supervision needed to do so. Opportunities to experiment and problem solve are provided both individually and in groups as children learn initial social skills involving sharing and taking turns.
Orion Child Development Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a private school, offering approved preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs. A before and after school program is also available to children through third grade. Our program integrates all areas of learning in a fun way as it prepares children for success and transition into first grade and beyond. The teaching techniques encourage learning through enjoyable ad inspiring experiences that are based on current research in education and development. Program goals are adapted to meet the individual needs of each child, and each child will be able to develop at his/her own pace.
ENROLLMENT AND ELIGIBILITY
We invite and encourage parents to visit the center to observe before enrolling your child/children. Children must be between the ages of six weeks and six years, except for those participating in the before/after school program (who are welcome to participate through third grade). Enrollment is on a first-come, first served basis unless a sibling is already enrolled and the center is notified 30 days in advance. Children may be placed on a waiting list prior to their birth. Complete enrollment forms are required prior to your child's first day.
Children will be accepted into the program without regard to race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin (including limited English proficiency), handicap, or sex. It is our policy to meet the needs of all children enrolled in the program. However, there may be situations when Orion may not be the ideal setting for some children with special needs.
